THOUSANDS THRONG BATU PAHAT FOR SULTAN IBRAHIM’S BIRTHDAY TEA PARTY

Thousands of excited Johoreans in Batu Pahat didn’t miss the opportunity to attend the annual tea party held today (24th Nov) in conjunction with HM Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s 60th birthday.
His Majesty’s arrival, together with HM The Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah at Dataran Penggaram around 3pm was warmly received by the crowd of around 10,000 people from all walks of life.
Also present were other members of the royal family.
The ceremony included presentation of special cakes to mark Sultan Ibrahim’s birthday by various government departments and private companies which were then distributed to the guests at the event.
His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim also consented to the launch of three books touching on various facets of Johorean history.
They are titled “JDT: An Abode of Dignity” by President of the Johor Council of the Royal Court, Dato’ Abdul Rahim Ramli; “Road To A Royal Coronation” by Robert Lim and “Almarhum Sultan Ismail Johor” by Ahmad Fadhli Syed Hassan.
The celebration was further enlivened by traditional cultural performances and songs sung by popular local artistes including Johorean Amy Search, Syamel and Ernie Zakry.
